CULINARY TOUR IN KYRGYZSTAN 8 DAYS

Kyrgyzstan is amazing destination for so many reasons, its nature, history and culture. However, the Kyrgyz culinary is one of the main reason to visit this country. Kyrgyz cuisine is very diverse and combined, partly from nomadic ancestors’ heredity and influence from neighboring Asian countries. Presently, more than 80 ethnic groups live in Kyrgyzstan and they are all mutually enriching culinary of the country.

 

In this tour, we organize a great journey to traditional Kyrgyz, Uighur and Uzbek cuisines.

In Chon-Kemin Valley we will see baking of traditional Uzbek bread “Patir Nan” in “Tandyr” oven. Subsequently, we will watch baking of the Kyrgyz traditional bread “Kattama”, and taste national dish “Kuurdak” in Kochkor town. Furthermore, in village Bokonbaevo, we will try Kyrgyz traditional soup “Shorpo” with “Samsa”(baked dish with various fillings). In Karakol town, we will taste Uighur traditional dish – “Lagman” with famous spicy “Laza” sauce. And the best part of the Kyrgyz culinary: “Beshbarmak” (translated as five fingers, supposed to eat by hands) Kyrgyz people cook for guests and traditional fried bread “Boorsok”.

ITINERARY:

Day 1 ARRIVAL DAY. BISHKEK AIRPORT

Meet the group at Manas Airport. Transfer to hotel for rest. After

Lunch, start city tour in Bishkek. Visit Ala-Too Square, Panfilov

Park, History Museum (under reconstruction), Victory

Square and Osh Bazaar. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at the

Guest house.

Day 2 BISHKEK - CHON-KEMIN

After breakfast, drive to Chon-Kemin valley. En route visit Burana

Tower of XI Century. Lunch en route. Upon arrival free time for

easy walk. Demonstration of baking bread in Tandyr oven.

Dinner and overnight in guesthouse.

Day 3 CHON-KEMIN - SON-KUL LAKE

After breakfast, drive to Son-Kul Lake - the 2nd largest lake in

Kyrgyzstan. Here you’ll enjoy with culinary show of national dish

Kuurdak. Horse riding. Dinner and overnight in yurts.

Day 4 SON-KUL - KOCHKOR - BOKONBAEVO

After breakfast, drive to Bokonbaevo. En route stop in Kochkor

for master class of Uzbek food Plov and Kyrgyz bread Kattama.

Continue to Bokonbaevo village. Upon arrival possible Eagle hunting

show (opt.). Then master class of national soup Shorpo and Samsy.

Overnight in local house.

Day 5 BOKONBAEVO - BARSKOON - DJETI-OGUZ - KARAKOL

After breakfast, drive to Karakol. En route visit Barskoon waterfall

and Djety-Oguz gorge. Easy walk. Upon arrival in Karakol master

class of Uighur dish Lagman with laza sauce. Overnight in local house.

Day 6 KARAKOL - CHOLPON-ATA - TAMCHY

After breakfast, short city tour in Karakol. Visit Dugan Mosque and

Orthodox Church. Then drive to Cholpon-Ata to visit local history

museum and petroglyphs - open air museum of field stones.

Possible boat cruise (opt.). Then continue driving to Tamchy,

where is master class of national food Besh-barmak and Boorsok.

Overnight in local house.

Day 7 TAMCHY - BISHKEK

AM free time for walking around the lake.  After lunch, drive to

Bishkek. Upon arrival farewell dinner in Supara ethno restaurant complex.

Overnight in guesthouse.

Day 8 DEPARTURE DAY

Transfer to airport. See the group off.
